Accused New Year's Murderer Out on Bail

Adam Randy Baker, 23, of Dana Point, is out on $1 million bail. Police accuse Baker of killing Robert Sickles during a New Year's Eve party stabbing.

The man police accuse of stabbing is out on $1 million bail, court documents show.

Adam Randy Baker, 23, of Dana Point, was released from jail Tuesday. Penny Bail Bonds issued the $1 million bond.

Baker is due back in court April 11 at 8:30 a.m.

. Sickles was fatally stabbed in the chest, and friend Brian McTeigue was stabbed in the back but survived.

The crowd piling out from the party surrounded Baker, beating and holding him down until police broke up the mob, according to Costa Mesa police.

Baker faces six felony charges, including murder, attempted murder and assault with a deadly weapon. He has pled not guilty to the murder and attempted murder charges and has retained attorney Gary M. Pohlson of Laguna Hills to represent him.

Court records show Baker has been accused of several misdemeanor infractions over the last eight years, including minor possession of alcohol, possession of less than an ounce of marijuana and several traffic violations.
