Alleged Serial Rapist Makes First Court Appearance

Melbrough Williams Jr. pleaded not guilty to multiple violent felonies, including rape and robbery.

An alleged serial rapist arrested following a rape at a Temecula motel pleaded not guilty Wednesday to multiple serious felonies.

Williams is charged with seven counts of rape by force, three counts of robbery, and one count each of kidnap for rape, oral copulation by force, and sexual penetration with a foreign object.

He is also facing sentence-enhancing allegations of sexual offenses against a kidnap victim, sexual offenses with more than one victim, being an habitual offender and committing a felony while armed.

If convicted as charged, Williams reportedly faces multiple life sentences.

He remains behind bars in lieu of $1 million bail.

One of the victims was raped in October 2002 in the Lake Elsinore area after being kidnapped from a location in Orange County; the three other victims were raped in the Temecula area this spring and summer, according to the district attorney's office.

The victims in this case were all working as prostitutes at the time of the crimes; Williams reportedly met the three most recent victims online, according to the Riverside County District Attorney's office.

The woman who was allegedly raped in Lake Elsinore was picked up on an Anaheim street by Williams, the DA’s office reported.

I keep saying it this town has gone to Sh.... t. Yet we continue to want to increase our low income housing, build a water park, oh boy that will attract a great crowd. Sometime i feel like i am in vegas while pumping gas some bum comes up to me and ask for money. Oh and by the way this bum is in his 20's not some poor old guy. We need to clean up this city and get rid of the homeless stop the low income housing, otherwise we will contiune to be dragged down.

it's getting to the point I don't even like going to get gas especially at night. There are always people begging for $ or trying to sell me something. Trust me, if I wanted something to shine my headlights I would go to Walmart or Pep Boys and if I wanted a $3 candy bar I'd go inside the store.

These must be the bleeding heart people that hand a dollar or two to the Sh--bags on the freeway. This is why the homeless stay here ... Oh and how about the orfinazations that provide free food daily and free shelters (tents) to the homeless as well. This is why they stay. There are only more and more that are going to arrive as long as they can get free stuff. Apparently it really doesn't bother anyone because no one says anything ... they only gripe on the Patch, where no one gives a flip. I agree with all the comments ... now get off your behinds and get involved and do something. Yeah, we see what happens. All these whiners are so eager to say what needs to be done, but don't want to do anything. Practice what you Preach.
