Blotter: People Possibly Living out of Cars Near Elementary Schools

Two separate calls from two separate schools came in within a minute of each other complaining of people living in their cars at or near the school.

A caller passed along a message that an old Mercedes sat in the parking lot between Reilly Elementary School and Pavion Park and that a man was sleeping inside in a sleeping bag.

A minute later, another caller reported a black Mazda parked illegally in the main driveway at Del Lago Elementary School. The caller noticed blankets in the back seat and said a transient could be living in the car.

The incidents were reported just before 8 a.m. Wednesday.

Petty-theft report 8:26 a.m., Friday, 26300 block of Oso Parkway. A female guest reported items missing from her room.

Suspicious person/circumstances 3:48 a.m., Friday, 25300 block of Pacifica Avenue. The caller said she could hear a loud bang whenever a vehicle passed by her house as if someone was throwing something at the vehicles.

Disturbance 2:42 a.m., Friday, Nogal/El Retiro. The caller said a man and a woman were yelling and screaming at each other in a car.

Traffic Accident 10:35 p.m., Thursday, Jeronimo Road and Alicia Parkway. A truck crashed into a hillside between Alicia and Acero Road.

Disturbance 8:54 p.m., Thursday, 27800 block of Violet. The caller said juveniles were loitering and creating a disturbance near the stairwell.

Petty theft 7:43 p.m., Thursday, Oso Parkway and Marguerite Parkway. Someone took a purse from a cart, according to a caller, and left in a white Subaru. Police arrested Christopher Michael Anctil, a 22-year-old construction worker.

Disturbance 7 p.m., Thursday, 25500 block of Jeronimo. The caller said her ex-boyfriend came in and started an argument. Mike Deptino, a 42-year-old air-conditioning technician, was arrested and held on $15,000 bail.

Reckless driving 5:26 p.m., Thursday, Marguerite Parkway/Santa Margarita Parkway. The caller said someone in a blue Honda was following her over road rage.

Suspicious person/circumstances 2:57 p.m., Thursday, 28000 block of Marguerite Parkway. The caller said a woman was standing in the post office parking lot with a child in a stroller and was panhandling customers.

Suspicious person/circumstances 12 p.m., Thursday, Alicia Parkway/Marguerite Parkway. The caller said a man who was possibly on drugs was walking in and out of traffic lanes.

Non-cohabitant domestic violence 11:24 a.m., Thursday, Marguerite Parkway/Santa Margarita Parkway. The caller said her husband slapped her across the face.

Suspicious person in a vehicle 4:22 a.m., Thursday, Santa Margarita Parkway/Los Alisos Boulevard. The caller said there was a small pickup truck with headlights on parked on the side of the road across from Trabuco Hills High School. The caller said it was faced the wrong way and was not sure if anyone was inside the vehicle.

Disturbance 12:01 a.m., Thursday, 27300 block of Via Olmo. The caller reported someone in the house who was out of control and throwing things.

Disturbance 11:15 p.m., Wednesday, 26100 block of Crown Valley Parkway. The caller said there were many juveniles in many vehicles playing loud music and dancing by the gate. It's an ongoing problem.

Disturbance 9:51 p.m., Wednesday, 26200 block of Via Roble. The caller said a neighbor was banging on the walls and throwing rocks at the window. No weapons seen.

Welfare check 7:38 p.m., Wednesday, 27900 block of Freeport. The caller asked for a patrol check for someone who was threatening suicide.

Drunk driving 7:39 p.m., Wednesday, Oso Parkway/ 5 freeway. The caller said a silver or gray Toyota was swerving into lanes and making other cars swerve out of their own lanes.

Disturbance 4:25 p.m., Wednesday, 27600 block of Marguerite Parkway. The caller said a female customer was threatening another woman in the parking lot.

Suspicious person/circumstances 2:29 p.m., Wednesday, 26200 block of Papagayo Road. The caller said kids were sitting on the roof of the house and throwing things.

Suspicious person/circumstances 12:05 p.m., Wednesday, 27700 block of Medical Center Road. The caller reported a 15-year-old and a 16-year-old girl who came into ER after passing out at school.

Unknown trouble 1:41 a.m., Wednesday, 27700 block of Crown Valley Parkway. The caller at Kaleidoscope Center said he needed help on level 5. Some type of fight was heard in the background before line disconnected.

Disturbance 11:30 p.m., Tuesday, 25400 block of Marguerite Parkway. The caller said a 22-year-old man had just hit another man while he was in the bathroom. The caller was outside, and the suspect was still inside.

Suspicious person/circumstances 9:16 p.m., Tuesday, La Paz Road/Muirlands Boulevard. The caller said a juvenile employee was gathering shopping carts in the parking lot and possibly smoking drugs.

Suspicious vehicle 8:52 p.m., Tuesday, Via Oviedo/Via Navarra. The caller reported an older sedan at the front of the park with three or four people inside who were possibly doing drugs.

Suspicious person in a vehicle 5:08 p.m., Tuesday, 25700 block of Aurora Way. The caller reported a silver Acura and a grey Mercedes with men in their 20s inside. The caller believed they were selling and smoking drugs at the park.
