Charges for Man Accused of Exposing Himself to Wife, Injuring Husband

A 44-year-old man accused of exposing himself to a Mission Viejo woman and assaulting her husband during an ensuing chase was charged today with assault with a deadly weapon or force likely to produce great bodily harm and indecent exposure, authorities said.

Mark Andrew Green also was charged with one felony count of making criminal threats and a misdemeanor count of resisting arrest, according to court records.

Green, who was being held without bail, was expected to be arraigned this afternoon.

About 10 p.m. Monday, the unidentified woman looked through a window and saw a man masturbating outside her home in the 23900 block of Juaneno Drive, said Orange County sheriff's Lt. Jeff Hallock.

Her 29-year-old husband chased Green down the block, then jumped into the bed of the suspect's pickup truck to try to stop his escape, the lieutenant said. The suspect jumped out of the vehicle and allegedly assaulted the husband, Hallock said.

Orange County sheriff's deputies, with help from a department helicopter crew, were able to track the truck based on the victim's description. As Green got out of the truck in Rancho Santa Margarita, he spotted the deputies and was arrested following a short pursuit, Hallock said.

The husband suffered minor injuries, authorities said.
