CHP Chases Down Man with Gunshot Wound

The following is a selection of calls from Mission Viejo to the Orange County Sheriff's Department from April 12 to April 14.

A chase that started in Los Angeles County came to a stop in the southbound I-5 north of Oso Parkway early this morning after California Highway Patrol officers used a spike strip to disable the vehicle.

The chase started after a man who was riding with a woman in a GMC Yukon failed to stop for speeding on the eastbound 60 and ended around 2:56 a.m. in Mission Viejo.

“They made a couple attempts to spike it and they were successful in spiking it just north of Oso, said CHP Officer Gabe Montoya. “There were reports of shots fired early in the pursuit, but that was not from our department.”
