CHP Uses Taser to Bring Man to A Halt

Subject fled an accident on the Crown Valley off-ramp on Interstate 5.

California Highway Patrol officers used a taser to stop a man who fled the scene of an accident on Southbound Interstate 5.

The man fled from a silver Nissan off the Crown Valley off-ramp after hitting the right shoulder wall. A Buick was also involved in the incident.

Officers called for air support, but it was unavailable. They finally caught up with the man and, about 20 minutes after the incident, used a taser to bring him to a halt.

The accident was reported at 10:02 p.m. The man was taken to Mission Hospital.

At midnight, there were no further details available from the CHP.
