Crash on I-5 Sends Three to Mission Hospital

Two vehicles overturned in the collision that tangled up traffic late Sunday morning.

Three people were injured in a multi-vehicle collision on Interstate 5 in Mission Viejo Sunday, with at least two vehicles overturning, a fire dispatcher said.

The extent of their injuries were not immediately known. All three people were taken to Mission Hospital, said a dispatcher with the Orange County Fire Authority.

Firefighters and paramedics were called to the scene of the crash on the southbound portion of the freeway at Oso Parkway at 11:22 a.m., he said.

The California Highway Patrol issued a SigAlert at 11:32 a.m. closing the carpool lane of the southbound freeway at Oso Parkway for one hour, a CHP dispatcher said.
