Deputies to Beef up Patrols in Mission Viejo Friday, Looking for DUIs

From an Orange County Sheriff's Department press release:

Deputies from the Orange County Sheriff’s Department DUI Task Force will be deploying this weekend to stop and arrest alcohol and drug-impaired drivers in the Department’s ongoing traffic safety campaign.  

DUI saturation patrols will deploy on Friday, May 9 at 7 p.m. until Saturday, May 10 at 3 a.m. in the cities of Mission Viejo, Lake Forest, and Rancho Santa Margarita. These patrols will be targeting areas with high frequencies of DUI collisions and/or arrests.

The goal of the program is to reduce the rate at which the citizens of Orange County are killed or injured in DUI related collisions. Through implementation of these events, the Orange County Sheriff’s Department hopes to significantly reduce deaths, injuries and property damage in each of our contract cities.

Deputies with the Orange County Sheriff’s Department are committed to working hand-in-hand with their contract city partners in providing a safe environment for the motoring public.

Funding for this program is provided by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. If you see a drunk driver, call 9-1-1.
