Doctor Accused of Cocaine, Sex in Public Is Restricted

Alan Marcus, a Laguna Hills endocrinologist, has been ordered by the court to submit to daily drug testing.

A Laguna Hills doctor accused of having sex in public with an assistant while doing cocaine has been ordered not to drink or take drugs by an Orange County judge.

Alan O. Marcus, an endocrinologist, was charged last April with felony possession of a controlled substance and two misdemeanors—being under the influence of a controlled substance and lewd conduct in a public place.

Marcus pleaded not guilty to all three charges Aug. 18.

Security guards say they found Marcus, 61 at the time, and a 29-year-old assistant, Amanda J. Aguirre, having sex and doing drugs in the parking lot adjacent to Saddleback Memorial Medical Center on a Tuesday afternoon.

Marcus is required to submit to daily drug testing pending the results of the trial, based on an order made by Superior Court Judge Michael Leversen.
