Guzman Trial Postponed Until September

A Mission Viejo man tried for allegedly molesting three young girls has had his trial delayed.

A Mission Viejo man charged with molesting three young girls has had his trial postponed until September.

Omar Alirio Guzman's jury trial is set to begin Sept. 24.

The trial was postponed due to a scheduling conflict with the prosecutor, who is trying another case this week, Orange County District Attorney spokesperson Farrah Emami said.

Prosecutors say Guzman performed oral sex on a 5-year-old from Dove Canyon in 1995 while he worked as a house cleaner. They say he also molested a 9-year-old and a 10-year-old in 2009 and 2010 who were visiting his relatives.

Guzman faces 10 felonies. He has pleaded not guilty to all of them.

He has been held in jail on $1 million bail since he was arrested in Dec. 2010.

He could be sentenced to up to 135 years or life in prison if convicted on all charges.
