Hidden Camera Discovered in Gap Dressing Room

An employee spotted the hidden camera in a Gap dressing room Saturday. Police are searching for the snoop who installed it.

ORANGE COUNTY, CA -- Orange County sheriff's investigators were checking surveillance footage today in an attempt to determine who placed a hidden camera in a dressing room of a local clothing store.

An employee at at found the hidden camera on Saturday afternoon, said Jim Amormino of the Orange County Sheriff's Department.

The camera—which is a half-inch by two inches and resembles a thumb drive—was attached to a black, wooden picture frame containing advertisements that was placed in the dressing room, Amormino said.

"It was concealed with black electrical tape to match the frame," he said.

Sheriff's deputies have the camera at a crime lab to see if it contains any images, Amormino said.

"We don't know how long the camera's been there," he said.

Investigators are unsure if a customer or an employee may have hidden the camera in the unisex dressing room, Amormino said.

"We're not ruling anybody out—anything's possible," he said.

Investigators are checking the surveillance cameras for the mall and the store for any clues.

Patch called the Gap headquarters in San Francisco, but there was no response.

Have you ever seen the kind of women the Gap caters to ? Who the hell would want to see them half naked ? Disgusting ! That's like posting semi-naked pictures of your mother on the Internet ! Perhaps someone was making a video they could use as a means of torturing the people forced to watch it ?!?

Well, I don't think that Gap MV is a "target" store, so I doubt it was for thieves. They could use them in the hallways in certain stores at certain malls though. Hopefully, they find out the matter.

Why snoop? Go to the beach or a nudist colony . Cameras are freaky.
Mitch August 16, 2012 at 03:14 pm
Yes I do, and whenever I find a hidden camera in a dressing room, I move it out into the open so that people will know they're being taped. Then they can make their own choice as to whether they want to be or not!

Reading the above comments makes me understand why we have a marxist like Obama in the WH. This country has hit rock bottom with it's ignorant citizens (above) and the leaders they deserve.
Mitch August 16, 2012 at 04:10 pm
Not completely, Max. For example, I wouldn't say YOU deserve a leader like Obama.
Peter Schelden (Editor) August 16, 2012 at 04:26 pm
Mitch, have you seen a hidden camera in a dressing room? Think it was placed by the store, or someone else?
Terri Black August 16, 2012 at 04:39 pm
I hear you Max. And Gap? Maybe it wasn't such a GOOD IDEA to have UNISEX dressing rooms? (Yes, I realize that people use them ONE at a time) but this was a RECIPE for disaster. Men and women, girls and boys, NEED to be separated, for this very reason. And by the way, sex crimes are NOT based on a person's looks, it is a violent, hurtful crime, and it is the VIOLATION that gets the perverts off.
Mitch August 16, 2012 at 05:07 pm
It wasn't, I for one wouldn't want a UNISEX dressing room! I'd like to see SAMESEX dressing rooms - one for gay men, one for lesbians - might make for an interesting recipe, to say the least....

Greg Raths announced for Congress

"As a Republican, he will go head to head with our current incumbant [sic]" Wait, areRead More there no other contenders? John Webb on the Republican side might run, and then there was that Irvine mayor Sukhee Kang fella, who finished second. The more the merrier. The more diversity in the views, even better. I would like to hear from contenders how they would vote differently on some of the votes the incumbents have cast. Because all too often we have "an independent minded Republican" or a "progressive reformer" or "Heck, I am BATMAN himself" only to have disappointing regurgitation of ideology of what should not be done ("low taxes", "freedom", "family values", "apple pie, motherhood"). Not what will be done. And until we have that, corporate monies shall determine our representative. I mean I can imagine Mr. Raths voting for the 45th time to repeal Obamacare, but seriously, which vote that John Campbell cast would be different if Mr. Raths were in office? If 90% of the positions are the same, it looks like a remarkable coincidence that an independent thinker is so like the incumbent, does it not? Mr. Raths did offer an 'independent' idea endorsing civil unions but not gay marriage. Cool. Is he going to sponsor a bill for civil unions? Or simply insist on enforcing DOMA because "sanctity of marriage", "religious liberty". How about H.R. 1797? How about the Gang of 8 bill on immigration if it passes the Senate and comes to the House? Will his vote be different than that of Mr. Campbell's? That is the key question. But again, I welcome Mr. Raths entry in the field, we need more variety, and if we cannot get that, we at least need more people willing to run. Good luck to you, sir.

I've talked with both John Webb & Sukhee Kang and they have indicated they will not be runningRead More in 2014. I do welcome all entries into the 2014 race. GREG RATHS

Tom Thumb you didn't read section 1021(b)(2) closely enough. It wouldn't apply to those arming theRead More rebels because of the word "suspicion." We know they are arming the rebels. See the difference. 1021(b)(2) only applies to those we "suspect" like you. Notice how the word "reasonable" doesn't appear anywhere near "suspicion"? Hmmmm wonder why that would be. Section 1021(b)(2) seems to be the modern day "suspicion of lurking with intent."
Tom Thumb June 16, 2013 at 02:31 pm
Shoot, I don't know about that. What we are hearing now is Obama/McCain are pushing to arm theRead More rebels who are supporting and are part of Al Qaeda: www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-middle-east-22095099

Hey Avery, I am totally stealing the "suspicion of lurking with intent" phrase. It mightRead More even flourish on reddit.
