Husband Arrested After Gunshot in Home Is Alleged

What crime incidents were reported in your neighborhood? Find out here. The following is a selection of calls from Mission Viejo to the Orange County Sheriff's Department from Aug 2-4.

Sheriff's deputies arrested a 46-year-old man and placed him in custody at the Central Men’s Jail on $50,0000 bail after his wife alleged that he slapped her and fired a gunshot into the floor of their home.

The man was taken out of the home by deputies without incident,  according to Lt. Jim England of the Orange County Sheriff's Department.

The domestic-dispute report was made at 1:46 a.m. Wednesday, at the 27000 block of Camden.

Suspicious person/circumstances. 2:17 a.m. Thursday. 27500 block of Hillcrest. Deputies responding to a suspicious-person report arrested a 23-year-old woman.

Forgery in progress. 7:11 p.m. Wednesday. 27700 block of Santa Margarita Parkway. Deputies arrested a 37-year-old man and placed him in custody at the Orange County Jail after a pharmacist reported that a man used a forged prescription to pick up medicine. The suspect  posted bail and was released the next day.

Assist outside agency. 4:33 p.m. Wednesday. 26300 block of Ganiza. Deputies arrested a 29-year-old man and placed him in custody at the Central Men’s Jail on $20,000 bail.

Found property. 9:25 a.m. Wednesday. 26600 block of Strafford. A resident who was following up on a patrol check that deputies conducted the night before regarding a noise complaint said he found a bullet casing in the bushes near his home.

Disturbance. 3:16 a.m. Wednesday. 27000 block of Fortrose. Deputies responding to a disturbance call arrested a 35-year-old man and placed him in custody at the Central Men’s Jail on $50,000 bail.

Suspicious person/circumstances. 11:40 p.m. Tuesday. Felipe Road and El Retiro. A caller asked deputies to check for a man who was tied to a pole with plastic wrap.

Suspicious person/circumstances. 10:34 p.m. Tuesday. 28400 block of Botorrita. A resident said there were three kids who were smoking drugs at a nearby residence, hopped the fence and ran down a slope when the caller walked by.

Disturbance. 5:36 p.m. Tuesday. 26300 block of Via Escolar. A caller said a motorcyclist hit his vehicle’s side mirror and challenged the caller to a fight when they stopped to assess the situation.
