Kids with Toy Guns Shoot at Drivers

The following is a selection of calls from Mission Viejo to the Orange County Sheriff's Department from Feb. 11 to Feb. 15.

A driver said kids shot his vehicle while they stood on top a hill overlooking Oso Parkway. Another resident reported two kids, acting suspiciously and pointing toy guns at vehicles driving by at the same area a little later.

Police dispatch received the first call around 4:40 p.m. at the intersection of Oso Parkway and Felipe.

Burglary alarm-audible. 7:01 a.m. Tuesday. 26000 block of Merit Circle.

Suspicious vehicle. 1:47 a.m. Tuesday. Olympiad Road and Applegate.

Burglary report. 7:12 p.m. Monday. 23500 block of Via Navarra.

Suspicious person/circumstances. 1:57 a.m. Monday. 27900 block of Torroba. A 40-year-old man who works as a cook was arrested after a resident reported him knocking on their backdoor and was cited and released from the Intake Release Center.

Suspicious person/circumstances. 3:00 p.m. Sunday. 27200 block of Nubles. A concerned resident said a suspicious person, looking at children playing at a nearby park, took off after he saw the informant.

Burglary report. 2:06 p.m. Monday. 26700 block of Ashford.

Keep the peace. 10:56 a.m. Sunday. 22800 block of Tindaya. A resident said his neighbor keeps on throwing dog feces and water on his windows.

Traffic stop. 1:28 a.m. Sunday. Marguerite Parkway and Santa Margarita Parkway. A 31-year-old man who works in construction was arrested during a traffic stop and was released from the Intake Release Center.

Disturbance. 10:32 p.m. Saturday. Marguerite Parkway and Avery Parkway. A 55-year-old man who works as a contractor was arrested for disturbance after showing hostility towards a caller and was cited and released at the Intake Release Center.

Shots heard-no suspect information. 10:06 p.m. Saturday. Tabuenca and Escatron. A resident reported his neighbor to police after watching the neighbor cocking a rifle and pulling a handgun out of his back pocket. The caller said he later heard a gunshot.

Suspicious person/circumstances. 5:31 p.m. Saturday. Jardines and Crown Valley Parkway. A resident reported a boy wearing camouflage and carrying a paintball gun loitering by the creek.

Suspicious person/circumstances. 7:56 a.m. Saturday. 27500 block of Mustang Run. A resident reported a boy, attending Saturday class at Trabuco Hills High School, throwing an expensive-looking, possibly stolen, bicycle into a bush.

Traffic stop. 1:37 a.m. Saturday. Los Alisos Boulevard and Trabuco Road. A 43-year-old woman was arrested during a traffic stop and was released from the Intake Release Center after posting an undisclosed bail.

Suspicious person/circumstances. 9:41 p.m. Friday. La Barca and Ontur. A concerned resident said four people were loitering in the greenbelt/trail and was afraid they might vandalize the area as other people have done in the past.

Keep the peace. 6:11 p.m. Friday. 27400 block of Camden. A 22-year-old man who works in retail was arrested during a keeping the peace assignment and was released from the Central Men’s Jail for time served.

Disturbance. 1:03 p.m. Friday. Marguerite Parkway and Jeronimo Road. A driver reported kids, possibly in a backyard, throwing oranges onto the street.
