Orange County Sheriff deputies arrested a 19-year-old man early Saturday morning while he was pilfering items from cars in Mission Viejo.
The incidents took place on Via Marina with an informant calling OCSD about 4 a.m.
According to Lt. Joe Balikcki, the informant followed the man, who was allegedly stealing from unlocked cars. When officers arrested the man, he appeared to have stolen items in his possession.
"He admitted to breaking into a couple of vehicles," Balicki said. "There may be more when people wake up.
"It appeared to be a random thing."
