Man Seen Peering into Residents' Windows

Shoplifting reports, possible credit card scams, accidents and an overdose in this blotter report for Oct. 12-13.

Around 3 p.m. Wednesday, a resident spotted a man jumping her neighbor's back yard fence. She said she didn't recognize him, and said he was looking into residents' windows from the back of their properties.

The call came from the 27700 block of Ruisenor.

Thursday

  • 5:59 p.m: A caller reported a department store manager had a woman pinned against a wall. The caller said the woman was hyperventilating. Firefighters were called. 27000 block Crown Valley Parkway
  • 5:46 p.m: Someone driving a blue Ford Explorer was accused of a hit and run accident. The vehicle was last seen eastbound on Oso. Cresta Verde and Montanoso Drive
  • 3:28 p.m: A woman was arrested under suspicion of shoplifting at . Lynn Jill Nguyne, an 18-year-old student, was released on site.
  • 3:10 p.m: A child was taken to Mission Hospital following an accident on a bicycle. Los Alisos/Muirlands
  • 2:58 p.m: A car caught fire in the driveway. 24300 block Graciela
  • 2:39 p.m: Someone spotted credit cards in a returned rental car and thought it may have been identity theft. 28200 block Marguerite Parkway
  • 1:35 p.m: A bicyclist said he was injured at an accident a half-hour prior at Crown Valley Parkway and Marguerite 
  • 11:34 a.m: Someone reported possible elder abuse at a care facility in Mission Viejo. 
  • 8:22 a.m: An overturned vehicle shut down the #1 lane of northbound Marguerite Parkway at Crown Valley Parkway. A woman was seen outside the vehicle and appeared uninjured.
  • 5:56 a.m: A large tree had fallen into the intersection. Jeronimo Road and Los Alisos Boulevard

Wednesday

  • 10:18 p.m: A man told police his wife, who had been sick for three years, had died of a possible medication overdose. 28000 block Marguerite Parkway
  • 8:45 p.m: A woman was arrested under suspicion of shoplifting at the mall. Tamara Anne McPherson, a 29-year-old photographer, was released from jail after posting an undisclosed bail.
  • 2:34 p.m: A couple reported their BBQ trailer stolen. 23900 block Alicia Parkway
  • 1:51 p.m. A woman told police she wanted her roommates out because "they have filled her house with junk," according to a police report. 27200 block Rosario
