Mission Viejo Man Accused of Deadly Drunken Desert Crash

Arresting officers say Jean Ervin Soriano was drunk at the time of a deadly Nevada crash.

A man accused of killing five members of a family this week and injuring two more on a Nevada Highway was born in Mission Viejo, the Los Angeles Times reports.

Jean Ervin Soriano, 18, is accused of driving a sports utility vehicle into a mini van carrying the Fernandez family, rolling both vehicles and causing the van to spin out and flip around 3 a.m. Saturday about 80 miles northeast of Las Vegas. He is being held on $3.5 million bail, according to the Las Vegas Review Journal.

Soriano admitted to drinking too many beers in an arrest report, the Journal said.
