Mom Says Son Was Attacked by Unknown Assailants

The following is a selection of calls from Mission Viejo to the Orange County Sheriff's Department from March 4 to March 8.

The mother of an 11-year-old boy said her son was jumped by a group of five people while walking home from a park near the 24600 block of Zena Court.

The call was made around 6:33 p.m. Friday.

Suspicious person/circumstances. 12:45 p.m. Tuesday. Fresno Drive and Modesto Drive.

Disturbance. 7:23 a.m. Tuesday. 27400 block of Los Altos. A caller said a woman driving a yellow Ford Focus threw something at her vehicle.

Petty theft report. 8:29 p.m. Monday. 28400 block of Marguerite Parkway. A caller said the muffler and catalytic converter on his Toyota Tacoma were stolen.

Suspicious person in vehicle. 5:03 p.m. Monday. 27800 block of Santa Margarita Parkway. A caller said a man in a gray truck was banging his head on the window.

Traffic stop. 12:45 p.m. Monday. Marguerite Parkway and Los Alisos Boulevard.  A 48-year-old man who works as a data analyst was arrested during a traffic stop and was placed in custody at Central Men’s Jail on $22,500 bail.

Traffic stop. 11:58 p.m. Sunday. Trabuco Road and Los Alisos Boulevard. A 31-year-old man was arrested during a traffic stop and was cited and released from Orange County Jail.

Disturbance—family dispute. 8:26 p.m. Sunday. 26400 block of Cortina Drive.  Police responding to a disturbance call arrested a 65-year-old man and place him in custody at Central Men’s Jail on $10,000 bail.

Grand theft. 2:38 p.m. Sunday. Santa Margarita Parkway and Pinecrest. A caller said a man with a buzz cut, heavy build, and a missing front tooth took an air soft rifle from him and left.

Patrol check. 1:29 p.m. Sunday. 28000 block of Marguerite Parkway. A caller asked sheriff's deputies to check for the word “rape,” which he said was painted in red around the area.

Drunk driving. 10:46 p.m. Saturday. Jeronimo Road and Alicia Parkway. A 55-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of drunk driving and was cited and released from Orange County Jail.

Disturbance. 3:38 p.m. Saturday. Pacific Hills Drive and Alato Drive. A resident asked sheriff's deputies to check for kids trying to tip over a nearby outhouse.

Traffic stop. 1:47 a.m. Saturday. 23000 block of Via San Gabriel. A 25-year-old man was arrested during a traffic stop and was cited and released from Orange County Jail.

Traffic stop. 10:40 p.m. Friday. Marguerite and The Shops. Police arrested a 35-year-old man who works as cook during a traffic stop and placed him in custody at Central Men’s Jail where he was released upon posting an undisclosed bail.

Battery. 7:24 p.m. Friday. 27400 block of Camden. A resident said her husband, who had been drinking, had an altercation with a neighbor who hit him on the head with a bat.

Disturbance. 6:48 p.m. Friday. 24800 block of Acropolis Drive.  Police responding to a disturbance call arrested a 43-year-old man who works as a researcher and placed him in custody at Central Men’s Jail.

Battery report. 11:25 a.m. Friday. 27700 block of Medical Center Road. A mother said her 13-year-old son was assaulted on his way home from school.
