No Injuries, Lanes Open After I-5 Bus Fire in Mission Viejo

Orange County firefighters had cleared the scene by 11:30 a.m. Friday

A Marine World tour bus caught fire on the I-5 south of Alicia Parkway in Mission Viejo on Friday morning, but passengers escaped without injury.

Orange County Fire Authority Captain Marc Stone said everyone exited the bus safely after it caught fire in the southbound lanes. Dispatch received the call at 9:36 a.m. this morning.

A SigAlert was issued about 9:45 a.m. Firefighters had cleared the scene as of 11:30 a.m., according to the OCFA dispatcher.

A California Highway Patrol dispatcher said all the lanes were back open by 11:03 a.m.

It is a private organization, so what they do with their rules, is really their business.…Read More Homophobia is not against the law, especially since they are not involved in any discriminatory practices. That said, the fact they choose to air this out allows one to comment on it. As to why anyone would wanted their kid in such an organization is beyond me, but the tide is clear, and increasingly bigotry is being chipped away. So, to those kids who want to be part of this organization, I hope it brings them some joy. It is not as if there were no gays in the Boy Scouts before, it is just that they now can announce that they exist.

And I wasn't…Read More bashing Chipotle, Charlie, I was bashing our collective notion that education is about "getting a better job." I was bashing our total disrespect for education and educators. The last thing we need to do it bash their unions. We need to take a look at the leadership of the union but the vehicle of the union is all that stands between us and corporate greed.

As I do agree, teachers are under paid, but offering something like Chipotle did is great. I think we need to bash their unions instead of great companies like Chipotle who are just offering a benefit.
