No Injuries, Lanes Open After I-5 Bus Fire in Mission Viejo

Orange County firefighters had cleared the scene by 11:30 a.m. Friday

A Marine World tour bus caught fire on the I-5 south of Alicia Parkway in Mission Viejo on Friday morning, but passengers escaped without injury.

Orange County Fire Authority Captain Marc Stone said everyone exited the bus safely after it caught fire in the southbound lanes. Dispatch received the call at 9:36 a.m. this morning.

A SigAlert was issued about 9:45 a.m. Firefighters had cleared the scene as of 11:30 a.m., according to the OCFA dispatcher.

A California Highway Patrol dispatcher said all the lanes were back open by 11:03 a.m.
