Noisy Neighbors? Woman Fires Gun Over Lake Mission Viejo

The following is a selection of calls from Mission Viejo to the Orange County Sheriff's Department from June 14 to June 15.

A 65-year-old Mission Viejo realtor was arrested Tuesday night after she fired a gun into the air.

“A woman was disgruntled because some people were making some noise,” said Orange County Sheriff Department Lt. Jerry Carlsen, adding that the woman came out twice to yell at the revelers.  “About 30 minutes later she came out again and fired a gun in the air.”

The woman, listed on the Sheriff's blotter website as Sandra Kay Smith, fired one shot from a .38-caliber pistol, claiming that she had a flare gun instead when deputies arrived. She appeared intoxicated according to police reports.
