At least three vehicles struck him, but only one driver contacted police.
A 39-year-old pedestrian was hit and killed at the Alicia/Coronel crosswalk Friday, Jan. 25 before 6:30 a.m. It was a rainy morning, more than a half-hour before sunrise.
Police investigating the crash have only been contacted by one driver, said Orange County Sheriff's Department spokesman Jim Amormino. He said low visibility could mean the other drivers don't know they hit the man.
Twelve days after the accident, the OCSD Coroner's Office has not identified the man who was killed. The Sheriff's Department has a policy to notify family before the public is given a person's identity during a death investigation.
Anyone who may have been involved in the accident or who saw what happened is urged to contact the OCSD.
