Prank or Worse? Rocks Smash Car Windows at Capo Valley High

The morning before graduation, several cars were vandalized at Capistrano Valley High.

Sometime between 10 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. Wednesday morning, someone was throwing rocks at cars parked at , said Mission Viejo police Sgt. Sandra Kirsch.

A school police officer was told of the vandalism, but by the time he arrived, the culprit was gone, Kirsch said.

Four vehicles suffered damaged windows as a result of the vandalism. Police do not know why the vehicles were targeted.

Today is the last day of school, with graduation taking place later this afternoon.

11:12 a.m. Reckless driving, Marguerite Parkway and Avery Parkway: A silver Tacoma was spotted hitting cones and running over a concrete barrier, then running traffic lights.

11:02 a.m. Petty theft, 27700 block Santa Margarita Parkway: A man in his late 50s was spotted stealing.

10:10 a.m. Narcotics, Mission Hospital: Nurses found heroin on a patient at the hospital.

5:44 a.m. Petty theft, 24400 block Alicia Parkway: A woman tried to detain a teen employee she caught stealing, but he took off. Police later arrested him.

1:46 a.m. Fireworks, 2600 block Calle Cresta: A group of kids were setting off fireworks in the street.

12:40 a.m. Prowler, 27700 block Tirante: A caller's wife saw a man looking into the sliding glass door of their home.

12:36 a.m. Suspicious Person/Circumstances, Capistrano Valley High School: Several vehicles attempted to park inside the school, including a white sedan and a white SUV.

MONDAY

10:43 p.m. Disturbance, Camden and Felipe: Five or six people were seen physically fighting outside cars parked in the middle of the street.

10:19 p.m. Disturbance, Sunstone and Hillcrest: Five or six people around the community pool sounded like they were preparing for a fight, according to a police informant

8 p.m. Traffic hazard, Los Alisos and California Court: The street was flooded near the California Terrace Apartments, and one person suspected a broken water main.

ARRESTED 7:34 p.m. Crown Valley/I-5: Two young men were panhandling for gas money.

7:21 p.m. Disturbance, Newhart Middle School: Several high school kids tried to crash the school dance inside the main gym. They were taunting people and refusing to leave, according to a police informant.

6:05 a.m. Assault, 23600 block San Esteban: A father banged his 19-year-old's head against a wall, causing bleeding, according to a caller.
