Someone claimed to have killed a Mission Viejo resident's pet dog via text.
Police were called Tuesday afternoon after a resident received a threatening text message:
"I JUST KILLED YOUR DOG AT THE HOUSE."
The resident had a puppy inside backyard kennel.
The call came at 3:04 p.m., according to the Orange County Sheriff's Department online blotter.
