Limbo and hula hoops for the kids, warnings about toy guns for parents at this fun safety event.

Kids and families came out Tuesday night to the Target on Jeronimo Road to meet police officers and learn how to protect themselves from crime.

Target partnered with local law enforcement for National Night Out to bring awareness to the community and to make the city a safer place.

The Orange County Sheriff's Department brought their investigative team, K-9 unit, mounted patrol deputy, school resource team and motor officers to show the community the tools law enforcement uses to keep their city safe.

"This event is about the community and to bring awareness so we can prevent crime," Orange County Sheriff Paula Monical said.

Along with the awareness booths, a hula hoop and limbo contest were held for a chance for contestants to win a $10 Target gift card.
