Sheriff Planning DUI Patrols in Mission Viejo Friday Night

Patrols will start at 7 p.m. Friday and continue until 3 a.m. Saturday morning in the cities of Rancho Santa Margarita, Mission Viejo and Lake Forest.

Deputies from the Orange County Sheriff’s DUI Task Force will be performing saturation patrols on Friday night to stop and arrest alcohol- and drug-impaired drivers in a continuing traffic-safety campaign.

Patrols will start at 7 p.m. Friday and continue until 3 a.m. Saturday morning in the cities of Rancho Santa Margarita, Mission Viejo and Lake Forest.

Deputies will be targeting areas with frequent DUI collisions and arrests.

The goal of the program is to reduce the rate at which Orange County citizens are killed or injured in DUI related collisions. 

Funding for this program is provided by the California Office of Traffic Safety through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
