Suspected Burglar Chased Out Of Home

What crime incidents were reported in your neighborhood? Find out here. The following is a selection of calls from Mission Viejo to the Orange County Sheriff's Department from Aug 12-16.

A man later arrested for burglary was chased out of a home on the 23700 block of Via Potes by one of the home's residents, said Lt. Rolan Chacone with the Orange County Sheriff's Department. Police were called at 3:43 p.m. Monday.

Deputies arrested a 27-year-old man and took him into custody at Central Men’s Jail on $50,000 bail after being positively identified as a suspect.

An investigation is ongoing.

Disturbance. 7:49 p.m. Monday. 26200 block of Golada.

Suspicious vehicle. 9:34 a.m. Monday. 28200 block of Marguerite Parkway.

Disturbance. 2:05 a.m. Monday. Marguerite Parkway and Avery Parkway. Deputies responding to a disturbance call arrested a 22-year-old man and took him into custody at Central Men’s Jail with no bail set. The arrest came after a caller reported three men in their early 20s chasing cars and provoking passersby.

General broadcast. 12:36 a.m. Monday. Los Alisos Boulevard and Santa Margarita Parkway. Deputies arrested a 40-year-old man and took him into custody at Central Men’s Jail with no bail set. The man was allegedly seen driving a silver Mustang while "swerving all over the road, slamming on his brakes and stopping way past limit lines," according to a caller.

Firework violation. 10:40 p.m. Sunday. Orellana and Ventosa.

Vandalism report. 5:24 p.m. Sunday. 25600 block of Minos Street.

Suspicious person/circumstances. 10:11 a.m. Sunday. Oso Parkway and I-5. Deputies responding to a suspicious person report arrested a 45-year-old bookkeeper and took her into custody at Orange County Jail and was released when she posted bail. Police were called after the woman was spotted parking her bicycle on the side of the road while leaving her purse unattended.

Firework violation. 1:40 a.m. Sunday. 27300 block of Becedas.

Firework violation. 10:02 p.m. Saturday. 26400 block of Trabuco Road.

Drunk driving. 5:22 p.m. Saturday. La Paz Road and Olympiad Road. A 55-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of drunken driving and was taken into custody at Orange County Jail and was released when she posted bail.

Suspicious person/circumstances. 3:58 p.m. Saturday. 27700 block of Santa Margarita Parkway.

Traffic stop. 1:15 a.m. Saturday. Oso Parkway and I-5. A 23-year-old man was arrested during a traffic stop and was taken into custody at Orange County Jail where he was cited and released.

Suspicious person in vehicle. 10:05 p.m. Friday. 26000 block of Las Flores.

Traffic stop. 6:26 p.m. Friday. Oso Parkway and Fairfield Inn. A 33-year-old man was arrested during a traffic stop and was taken into custody at Orange County Jail and was released when he posted bail.

Vandalism report. 3:33 p.m. Friday. 27300 block of Pinavete.
