SWAT Deputies Come to Mission Viejo Home, Discover Man who Killed Himself

A woman had fled from the house, saying she had heard a shot from inside.

Orange County SWAT deputies today entered a Mission Viejo home where a shot rang out around four hours earlier and found a man who had taken his own life, authorities said.

The suicide occurred in a home in the 24600 block of Mosquero Lane, said Lt. Jeff Hallock. The initial call of a shot fired came in around 11:30 p.m. Sunday, authorities said.

A woman fled the home and called the sheriff's department to report that her spouse was despondent and that she had heard a shot inside, Hallock said.
