Swim Coach Rape Investigators Seek Victims

Investigators from the Orange County Sheriff's Department ask anyone to come forward who has had inappropriate contact with swim coach Todd Souza, owner of the business Swim Venture.

Orange County Sheriff’s detectives are interviewing more students of a Swim Venture coach who is suspected of repeatedly having sex with a 15–year-old client.

“Ever since , we have received a lot of calls from parents,” said Sheriff’s Department spokesman Jim Amormino. “I don’t know of any additional victims yet, but we do have a number of people left to interview.”

Sousa's company operates at three Mission Viejo schools: Esperanza Elementary (25121 Pradera), Mission Viejo High School (25025 Chrisanta Dr.) and Trabuco Hills High School (27501 Mustang Run), according to the Swim Venture website.

Amormino said parents who used Swim Venture and believe anything out of the ordinary may have occurred between Sousa and their daughters should contact the Sheriff's Department.

"If he paid unusual attention to them or if he spent time with them outside of the pool, if they have a concern that he may have victimized someone, we’ll look into it," he said.
