Video: Apologetic Robber Strikes in Mission Viejo with Handgun

"Have a good night, man. Sorry."

Those were the polite robber's parting words after taking cash at gunpoint from a Mission Viejo Arco at Crown Valley and I-5 around 3:30 a.m. Friday.

This is the second Orange County armed robbery in a week from the man dubbed the "apologetic bandit." The robberies end an eight-month break, Orange County Sheriff's Dept. Lt. Jeff Hallock said.

The robber is in his early 20s and wears all black every time he robs a store, Hallock said. He is also exceedingly polite toward the clerks he targets.

See video of his latest robbery above, with audio.

The robber is described as 5'7", wearing black Converse shoes, and black-rimmed glasses over a black mask.

The OCSD encourages anyone with information on the robber to call 714-647-7000 or leave an anonymous tip at occrimestoppers.org.
