Party-Goers Threw Bottles at Police Cars, Officers Say

A Friday night party attended by about 400 people ended with a number of citations and arrests.

Attendees at a crowded Friday house party in Mission Viejo threw beer bottles at police cars when officers arrived on scene, Orange County Sheriff's Department officials say.

At about 10 p.m. March 16, the OCSD received a report of a crowd of about 400 people, some of them juveniles with alcohol, at a party at the 24500 Block of Aguierre.

When officers arrived at the scene, some attendees allegedly threw beer bottles at the OCSD vehicles.

According to officials, 22-year-old Rohn Gomez, the alleged party host, told people about the party on Facebook, and held it while his parents were out of town.

When deputies spoke with Gomez, they said he asked for their help in getting about 100 people to leave the party to prevent further destruction to the home.

Gomez received a citation for allegedly violating the city's Social Host Ordinance, the ordinance that fines party-throwers if minors are consuming alcohol or using controlled substances on site.

Several people were either issued citations or arrested at the party including Autumn Kelsea Conner, 18, who was cited and released for alleged public intoxication and Jonathan Suchip Garnes, 18, who was arrested for allegedly resisting/obstructing a peace officer.

A hit-and-run collision involving a 2010 Ford Focus was also reported at the scene.
