U.S. Congressman John Campbell is in the newly created 45th Congressional District. But he's not alone. Irvine Mayor Sukhee Kang debut and will put on a tough campaign.

In the 73rd Assembly District, Diane Harkey took a commanding lead in the primaries with nealry 70 percent of the vote. But rival Jim Corbett, known for his First Amendment fight with a student over allegedly irreligious comments, says he'll be in November.
