Here are some longer questions. Please limit your answers to 200 words:
- Why are you running? As Mayor of Irvine, I brought people together to deliver results for Irvine. While other communities were laying off cops, I fought cuts and kept Irvine’s force at full strength with no layoff and no furloughs. Crime is at a 40-year low and for the seven year in a row the FBI calls Irvine “The safest large city in America.” I am known as “Education Mayor” and support to protect Irvine schools from state budget cuts. I passed the Irvine School Support initiative to keep class sizes small and restore school days lost to budget cuts. I am a consensus-builder and problem-solver. This is Sukhee Kang’s record: Bringing people together and getting results.
- What is the most important issue facing voters in your district, and where do you stand on that issue?
- Balance the budget and get our economy moving again.
- Create new jobs – bring people back to work.
- Invest more on education – cultivate high quality workforce
- Protect and preserve Social Security and Medicare – from attempts to slash the guaranteed benefits Orange County seniors have paid for and deserve
- Do you offer any pledges or promises to voters? I promise the leadership that gets results. Washington is out of touch. We must put our people first, stop partisan gridlock, listen, learn and respond.
