Canned Food Requested for Families in Need

The accepts donations of non-perishable food, which is distributed by South County Outreach.

You can find food barrels near the library entrance. Donations can also be dropped off at bins inside the .

Here's a list of what's most needed:

  • peanut butter
  • jelly
  • soup
  • cereal
  • juice
  • canned fruit
  • macaroni & cheese
  • pasta and pasta sauce
  • rice
  • tuna
  • canned beans
  • canned vegetables

The items are picked up weekly and dispensed to many families in need across the area, according to a city statement.

South County Outreach provides emergency housing and a food bank for more than 1,200 South Orange County families each month. Children comprise over 40 percent of those served.

Every day, the non-profit organization struggles to provide emergency non-perishable and fresh food to local families and often has to purchase food to serve those who need it most.
