Expect La Paz/I-5 Slowdowns this Month

This month the city is working with Laguna Hills and Caltrans to make traffic run more smoothly between the freeway and La Paz.

As a result, lanes will be closed in both directions overnight in late August. Access to the freeway will also be cut off at unspecified times.

Here's the schedule of known closures. All closures are from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m., except where specified:

Aug. 21 La Paz Road East is closed from west of Cabot Road to Muirlands Boulevard for pavement grinding. The city asks drivers to avoid the area and follow posted detour signs. Aug. 22 La Paz West is closed from Muirlands to west of Cabot for pavement grinding.
Aug. 23 La Paz lanes is closed in both directions near Cabot until 6 a.m. Aug. 24 La Paz East is closed from west of Cabot to Muirlands for placement of a new asphalt concrete pavement. Aug. 25 La Paz West is closed from Muirlands to west of Cabot for placement of a new asphalt concrete pavement.
