Library Closed for Labor Day Holiday

Here are some places to find free e-books instead of wasting a trip to the closed library.

Looking for a good book to while away the long weekend? Better not go to the library for it.

The Mission Viejo Library is closed Sunday and Monday in celebration of the Labor Day holiday.

The library will resume its regular hours on Tuesday, 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.

In the meantime, check out these links for books online:

  • Project Gutenberg: This is the place to go for free e-texts of classic books. You can find over 42,000 free e-books here, most of which are available for the Kindle and other e-readers. There are also audio books.
  • Feedbooks: This website provides a large collection of license-free e-books, as well as several books for sale.
  • Amazon: After bringing e-readers to the world via the kindle, Amazon has kept pace by offering free e-books and plenty of books for sale as well.
