Councilwoman Trish Kelley has been chosen by her colleagues to serve as the next mayor of Mission Viejo. Councilman Dave Leckness will serve as mayor pro tempore beginning in 2014.
This is the fourth time Kelley has been elected mayor. She was first elected in 2002 and served as mayor in 2005, 2008 and 2010. Leckness was mayor in 2011.
In the first meeting of 2014 on Jan. 6, current mayor Rhonda Reardon will be recognized for her service.
The City Council meets the first and third Monday of the month in the Council Chamber at City Hall, 200 Civic Center. The Dec. 16 meeting was canceled due to the holidays.
