Mission Viejo Might Become 38 Acres Bigger

If a housing developer has its way, Mission Viejo will grow by about 38 acres on the south side of El Toro Road.

Mission Viejo will be one step closer to becoming 38.4 acres bigger along the south side of El Toro Road if developer Standard Pacific Homes has its way during Monday's city council meeting.

SPH will ask the city to incorporate land next to the Painted Trails development. The developer wants to use the space to develop 85 single family homes, according to a staff report. The project would be called Skyridge.

The council is being asked to approve further consideration of annexing the space, but will not vote to actually annex. The Local Agency Formation Commission and the county would have to be notified before annexation procedures could continue.
