Poll: Tea Party Tax Revolt--Will You Be Protesting?

The local tea party will hold its annual Tax Day protest Monday near City Hall.

Local tea party groups will protest taxes Monday afternoon from 5 to 7 on the La Paz Road/Marguerite Parkway intersection.

The protest is being put on by the Republican Party of Orange County along with Mission Viejo Tea Party Patriots.

This is the fourth year in a row for the tax protest.

Here's what resident Lamar Kelsoe said about the meaning of the protest: "We have to change Washington’s attitude – of the politicians, by the politicians and for the politicians – to 'of the citizens, by the citizens and for the citizens.' Washington is out of touch."

Protesters are invited to bring signs and American flags.

According to organizers, the two-hour rally will include speakers from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., with Mission Viejo’s former assemblyman Todd Spitzer as emcee, OC Republican Party Chairman Scott Baugh and California Republican Assembly Vice President Karl Heft.
