Christmas is 53 days away, and Mission Viejo has started to get ready.
On Friday afternoon, workers strung Christmas lights around the tall pine tree at the La Paz/Chrisanta intersection.
One city worker said the lights won't be lit until Nov. 25. That's also when Santa will make his regular appearances in town.
