Affordable Jewish Education in Mission Viejo

Hebrew School Receives American Flag from Afghanistan

Chabad Jewish Center of Mission Viejo is gearing up for another great year of Jewish education.

Educating the next generation is one of Judaism's greatest priorities and has been serving the children and young adults in Mission Viejo and surrounding communities since 1995.

Chabad is open to the entire Jewish community, does not require membership and offers generous scholarships.

The Chabad philosophy is that education is more valuable than money.

This year our opening day for both divisions will be highlighted by a special guest in uniform, Major Scott Westerfield, along with Denise Goodson.

Westerfield is currently based out of Camp Pendleton, but was in Afghanistan last year. He wants to come and thank the school for all the work and love CJC Hebrew School has shared with the soldiers in Afghanistan last year by sending them gifts and cards before all the major Jewish holidays. :)

He will be presenting the American flag that our school was presented with to thank our kids and families for our tremendous support. He will be here to answer any questions we may have.

Denise Goodson, who runs 'Soldiers Angels,' devotes her life to helping Jews in the military by sending them care packages all the time.

We will all be treated to some yummy Rosh Hashana treats and refreshments, hear the shofar blown and a fabulous story by Rabbi Marcus to get us all into the spirit of the High Holidays. Also, we will be making cards for the Rosh Hashana holiday to send to Jews in the military. For more information contact Bassie at 949-770-1270 or bassie@chabadofmv.com
