Capo Valley Graduate Is Perfect -- In Attendance, That Is

Madeline Hannah did not miss a single of her 2,330 days since kindergarten.

Of the 3,700 seniors who graduated last month from Capistrano Unified School District, only one managed to have perfect attendance.

We’re talking for all 13 years of her K-12 education.

Mission Viejo resident Madeline Hannah, who graduated Capistrano Valley High School and is headed for Brigham Young University - Idaho, is that one.

The one who never missed school, not for one of the 2,330 or so days of her educational career.

“Despite a couple of close calls, she managed to fall ill only on weekends and holidays,” said Capo spokesman Marcus Walton.

The school board recognized her achievement Wednesday.  In response, Hannah had a prototypical Southern California take on milestone.

“It’s kind of a cool accomplishment that I can say I had perfect attendance,” she said.
