A former Saddleback College Gaucho is heading to the NFL.

Kyle Long, son of NFL Hall-of-Famer Howie Long, was drafted in the first round by the Chicago Bears Thursday night. Kyle was the 20th overall pick in the NFL draft.

The 6'6", 313-lb. offensive lineman played his last season for the Gauchos in 2011. Then he played for one season with the Oregon Ducks, starting in four games, said the Chicago Tribune. The team won 12 games and lost 1 in 2012.

He appealed to the NCAA to play another year with the Ducks but was turned down, the Tribune reports.

Kyle's brother Chris was the No. 2 overall selection in the 2008 NFL Draft. Chris Long was picked up by the St. Louis Rams out of the University of Virginia, according to the Saddleback football team website. He renewed his contract with the Rams for four years last summer, according to NFL.com.

Father Howie Long was drafted to the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2000 after three Associated Press First Team All-Pro seasons with the Oakland Raiders in the 1980s. He is now a Fox sports analyst who once tried his hand as an action movie star, playing opposite John Travolta in the movie Broken Arrow.

The 2013 NFL draft had a surprisingly high number of linemen chosen in the first round, according to CBS News. Out of 32 picks, 18 of the chosen players were linemen.
