Parking Lot Break-In at Capo Valley High

Five vehicles were vandalized, some were burglarized at Capistrano Valley High Monday.

Five vehicles were vandalized, with some items stolen during the school day Monday at Capistrano Valley High.

The burglaries went unnoticed despite an "extensive camera system," according to an e-mail blast from the school.

The school said that the day started with senior students "engaged in disruptive behavior," but there is no evidence students were behind the burglary and vandalism.

"We regret this happened and are working diligently to bring appropriate resolution," including working with the Orange County Sheriff's Department to identify the culprits, the e-mail said.

Last September, two vehicles were damaged after a vandal threw rocks at them in the CVHS lower parking lot.
