Capistrano Valley High School's International Baccalaureate visual arts department hosted their third annual art show Wednesday night.

During a night of dazzling artistic displays, Capistrano Valley High School's International Baccalaureate program hosted its third annual art show Wednesday evening. Eight IB students were featured, exhibiting artwork they accumulated over the past two years.

"The International Baccalaureate program is unique because each student is challenged to create a theme and masters an artistic technique that they develop as they progress," Capistrano Valley High School International Baccalaureate visual arts instructor Marilee Nielsen said.

Capistrano Valley High School meets the IB standards,  requiring students to complete two hundred pages in an artist’s workbook along with ten to thirty pieces of highly developed artwork prior to completing the program.

"The exhibition is the culmination of our research, process, and personal reflection within our artwork in our so-called journey," said Capistrano Valley High School International Baccalaureate visual arts student Sean O'Connor, 18.
