Principal Announced at Capo Valley High School

Cheryl Baughn will come out of retirement to serve as CVHS's interim principal, according to a Monday evening announcement.

A retired San Clemente middle school principal will step in at Capistrano Valley High School now that the school's current principal has been promoted.

Cheryl Baughn was once principal of Bernice Ayer Middle School before she retired. On May 2 she will take over from current principal Deni Christensen. The transition between principals will begin during the last week of April.

Christensen will begin serving as the Executive Director of Secondary Schools districtwide.

In an e-mail to parents, Christensen praised Baughn.

"I know that Dr. Baughn will be a wonderful asset to Capo Valley during this time of transition," he wrote, "while the district moves forward in the extensive selection process to secure a permanent principal prior to the start of school next fall."
