Capistrano Valley High's varsity 195-pound wrestler took first place in one of the state's toughest tournaments last weekend.

Phillip O'Shea pinned four opponents and outscored a fifth at the Five Counties tournament held at Fountain Valley High School.

The tournament included 96 teams from California and beyond, including 22 of the state's 27 best wrestling teams, according to maxpreps.com. In total, 860 wrestlers were signed up for the tournament.
