Football: Mission Viejo 63, La Quinta 14

Quarterback Ian Fieber averages nearly 30 yards per completion and throws three touchdown passes to different receivers as the unbeaten Diablos win easily.

It was a long bus trip for Mission Viejo, but it was a long night for La Quinta.

Playing in the desert with more than 120 miles of pavement behind them, the Diablos scored on each of seven possessions in the first half and scored a 63-14 nonleague victory over La Quinta.

Mission Viejo (4-0), , plays next week at home against Aliso Niguel (3-0) and the following week against Redlands East Valley (1-2).

It has been tough for Mission Viejo to find local teams that want to play, and if it continues to dominate outside the region the Diablos might find games even harder to find.
