Most folks would swing a stick at a pinata, but for a Mission Viejo girls soccer team, it becomes a good-luck charm: 'To Tina!'

Hey, readers. This season is really looking up.

Believe it or not, we are on a winning streak. Last week we beat El Toro, 2-1. Monday we played San Clemente. After scoring in the first three minutes, the whole team got really pumped. We scored again in the first half. A few short moments later, we scored again! Thankfully, we were able to defend our lead and walked away with a 3-0 shutout. It was a good game for us but it really brought out the bad side in one of San Clemente's players.

When a team is losing, it is understandable that they are going to be upset. After accidentally bumping into a girl on the ield when the ball wasn't near, I quickly apologized, although it didn't seem to matter. She turned and slapped me in the face and screamed at me to get off her, but she used much more offensive and inappropriate language, calling me fat.

I smirked at this last bit as she was a lot larger then I am. My bumping into her must have gotten her extremely upset with me because every time the ball came near, she hit me and pushed me away. In a last-ditch attempt to cool her jets, I told her, "Hey, I'm sorry for bumping into you earlier. It was an accident." She just grumbled that it was fine.

It just blows my mind how personally people take it when you steal the ball from them or try to dribble around them. I have pushed girls in my time but always when the ball was near and in play. I don't think it's really worth my time to push other players at a time when it's not going to affect the outcome of the game.

Last week before our game against El Toro, one of our teammates, Buster, received a piñata named Tina for her secret sister gift. We sat Tina on the bench during the game and after our win, we bowed down to it and decided that Tina was our good-luck charm. After bringing her back to school on Monday for the San Clemente game, Tina proved her good luck yet again and we held her up after and yelled, "To Tina!" The fun we've had as a team is really going to be missed after
the season ends on Wednesday.

Even though this season has been a lot of hard work and not as much of a success as we hoped for, I really hope everyone on the team comes back next year. The fun we've had has made all the perimeters we ran completely worth it.

Gabi

Yeap, but here at the patch, you can't say the f word, I wrote "asshole" ones and myRead More comment was deleted. This umbrella thing is ridiculous, of course, the observation came from brainless Sarah Palin, who can see Russia from Alaska and write comments like (Global warming my gluteus maximus.) because it snowing in Alaska. Un-f*****g-believable.

Says who? Such language is found quite commonly these days. Just because a marine says it, it doesRead More not make it inappropriate.

Hiding? It's on my blog in plain site. The language, which isn't mine, by and large, isn'tRead More appropriate for a site like Patch.

I know where they should be issuing speeding tickets: Marguerite Pkwy. between Crown Valley andRead More Avery Parkway between 6:10 and 6:25 a.m. Tuesday through Friday. Teens are frantically rushing to get to CVHS upper lot before it gets full. Every morning I see kids running red lights, speeding and weaving in and out of traffic with no regard for anyone else.

The MV motorcycle cops are all over the place. I'd like to know the number of traffic citationsRead More issued in MV versus our other neighboring cities.

Why are all the Motorcycle cops in MV OVERWEIGHT???

I've got some good news for the Mission Viejo Patch Whiners (®). It seems we're still migratingRead More a lot of the old content onto the new site. Expect to see videos repopulated soon, and I believe comments as well.

They are coming for the Johns now. DA Ruckysuckyducky has a new "shaming" program. I'mRead More sure it will work and prostitution will no longer be a curse upon the land...I mean, after all, the War on Drugs was a rollicking success!

That rings true, don't it: the 'flat spot' in an ongoing trend that will sometime soon go on. Eat,Read More drink and be, Mary, for tomorrow... a new interface will be introduced that strips hyperlinks, videos and comments from your bloggos and puts history out with the dogs. (whiiiiinnnnnnne)

There is a reason why sites like Patch 2.0 don't look good on Shripathi's Kindle-whatever screen,Read More but these sites do look great on the iPhone in Portrait for Landscape view. I'll be writing a post about that. If you're a business owner with a web site, you need to understand the reason in order to save money on your site.

The Bible also tells us that there were magicians who filled Egypt with blood, just like YahwehRead More helped Moses do. As to why magicians would fill the Nile (drinking supply), and their own country with blood, and stink it all up just to put Yahweh in his place is anyone's guess. Maybe this psychic can ask one of those magicians and let us know.

I talk to dead people all the time. My mom, dad, grandma, sister, and so on. It's when you startRead More claiming they talk back that you've crossed the line into hucksterism.
