Mark Sanchez may be searching for another NFL team to play on at the end of this season, reports ESPN.
The Mission Viejo High graduate has been fending off backup quarterbacks Tim Tebow and Greg McElroy, who both want the starting position for the New York Jets.
McElroy will start this weekend, coach Rex Ryan announced Wednesday.
It has been a rocky two seasons for Sanchez, who even received death threats during his Monday night game versus the Tennessee Titans.
But it won't be easy to let him go. His contract guarantees Sanchez $8.25 million for the 2013 season.
Meanwhile Tebow has made no secret of his unhappiness playing with the Jets, and ESPN quotes "league sources" to say Tebow will be off the team at the end of the season. Tebow's love life took a hit as well, with the backup recently breaking up with actress Camilla Belle.
