Mark Sanchez, Jets West Back in Mission Viejo

On Thursday, Mark Sanchez has returned to his hometown in Mission Viejo to conduct Jets West, a three-day passing camp with "about 15 teammates," according to ESPN.

Sanchez closed the camp off from the public last year at the start of a  controversial season that pitted the hometown hero against newcomer Tim Tebow for the starting quarterback position. This year he'll make time for the media Friday.

In the upcoming season, Sanchez is fighting for his position again. With Tebow traded, Gino Smith appears to be his main competition. Smith is not expected to attend Jets West.

Jets West isn't just about practice—it's a chance for teammates to bond at some of Sanchez's favorite places. They kicked things off Wednesday with a special dinner at the Monarch Bay Club in Laguna Beach. Check out the menu here.
