Mission High's Bob Johnson Named Coach of the Year

The California Coaches Assn. has announced that Bob Johnson, head coach of Mission Viejo High, has been named football coach of the year.

Mission Viejo High School coach Bob Johnson has been named football coach of the year by the California Coaches Association.

Johnson has been head coach of Mission since 1999. His teams have won three CIF championships and six league championships.

He has coached high school football since 1968. Johnson became head coach of El Toro High in 1979 and held that position until 1990.

In 2012 under Johnson, the Diablos were undefeated in the regular season, averaging 48.8 points per game in the and allowing their opponents to score 14.6 points on average.
